@wassameari - Doesn't make sense... "Halal" slaughter is exactly the same as "Kosher" slaughtering, which is EXACTLY the way Aussie farmers use to slaughter the animals on their farms (Many still do).

And if anything, slaughtering an animal and bleeding it out actually makes the meat more tender and appealing.

No, I'd sooner put the degradation in quality, down to plain 'ole Corporate greed, and the accompanying cost cutting that goes with it, rather than to the way an animal is killed.

@TheColonelsKitchen Maybe they are not as good because they are now Hala, Four’N Twenty pies are certified Halal by the Australian Federation of Islamic Council.

the ads are all really good, The pies aren't as good as what they once where. Pies dont seem as dominate in football these days there is red roosters and chips abd everything now

Four N Twenty pies are named after a line in the nursery rhyme "Sing a Song of Sixpence" - Four and Twenty Blackbirds.

not enough gristle and gravy these days...thats why all meat pies suck now!

Wow... talk about bring back the old memories... one things for sure though, Four N Twenty Pies are no where near as good as they were 25 plus years ago... in fact, now that I think of it, they're crap these days... Too much gristle, and the pastry is as plain as an old pair of leather boots. I remember when you could just eat the pastry by itself, it was so delicious!
