Somehow, I feel like Landau's portrayal is like the side of Lugosi he kept to himself, such as the crazy swearing and blatant hatred of being in Karloff's shadow. Not saying that's a bad thing, on the contrary, I think it's fascinating, and he totally deserved the Oscar for this role. It's a shame Bela Lugosi can never see this movie. I think he would've liked it.
