First..this is San Diego 1983, last race I believe. Thats why Johnson and Ronnie are on production 84 models and Broc is on the works OW250. In 84 RJ was number 17 as well. I also remember that Ronnie was leaving Yamaha for Honda in 84 and they refused to even give him a bike for this race. So he went and bought one and raced it stock!!! In 84 Ronnie just lost the 250 national title to RJ.

Wardy smoked me in a go-kart at Perris. His cart didn't have any brake lines connected either. Back when he was getting ready for Indy Lights. He was there with Troy Lee and a couple of pro street bike riders that day. I had fun trying to keep up with them and my go kart was fast. Theirs looked like mini Indy Cars. Troy Lee did a complete air 360 and landed on his wheels after colliding with Wardy's wheels. Crazy !!!

0:00 - who is that in the JT stuff on the Honda - #11? Is that Larry Brooks? It's not Bailey, that's for sure. Bailey was running the Camo pants that night. Maybe O'Mara?

8:29 - Did "Loop Out Larry" on the Factory Honda crash? LMAO!
These guys mostly looked like squids on a supercross course. I guess this is back when they were still learning how to ride SX.

Who ever said these guy were slow know nothing about the history of motocross. The track times have not decrease since then and the bikes have advance but not that much. Back then the guy's that line up had a chance of winning that night. Nobody knew who was going to win It is not like now where one guy leads all of the races.
back when 4 strokes stayed on the trails where they belonged
