This is part 2 of how to bind a sketch book for part one please go here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=whOsRIm8QxE

*I accidentally forgot to add one step that goes in between both videos: Stack those heavy books on top of your sewn book paper, and rub some glue along the spine liberally, then let dry. This will really help to hold your book together.*

Extra Tip- If you decide to cover your book with paper instead of fabric, you can apply a coat of Modge Podge or a similar gel medium to help protect the paper. This is great to use too if you want to make a collage of pictures as your book cover as well. =)

HOW TO WIN THE SMALL SKETCHBOOK: *Edit, Sketchbook has been given away at this point in time.

Post a comment or video response about the drawing seen inside of the sketchbook, the sky is the limit! The most creative answer will win the sketchbook! (View the very end of the video for a good view of the drawing)

DEADLINE:
October 21, 2010

The winner will be announced in my next video, October 22, 2010. Good Luck!!!

I hope you guys enjoyed my first tutorials. Cut me a little slack though, I only had one day to edit both videos completely! ^^; If you have any other tips that would be useful let me know and I can add useful ones to the description box. =)

Always,
Lauren

  • I'm wondering if I could glue the outside of the sketchbook papers onto the book covers, since I don't trust my glue a lot (for the cloth/canvas). that's how the papers would be more secure I imagine...? nice job btw, I find this extremely helpful!

  • @dushevka Yeah, it's just like some softcover books that rely completely on glue to hold it all together. Go for it! You're welcome too, glad it was helpful =3

  • Thank you so much for the awesome video! I'm really excited to try it out.

I do have one question though, what do you use to cut the chipboard? Will regular scissors work well?

    Thanks again!

  • @fantazmagorik Yay, you’re very welcome!

Yes, regular scissors should do the job just fine.

  • I did it thanks soooo much.

  • @abbi8able You're welcome! I hope it turned out the way you wanted =)

  • Since you talk about how you paint and draw and stuff you should get the app(if you have an iPod)stop motion studio😌Great way to make drawings come to life😝

  • I didn't really get how you glue the cover with the paper cover and fixed it with the signitures... What paper is that one you cut in the end? What's that for? .-.

  • Thanks for your creative energy and hard work! I appreciate the difficulty that you have experienced and wish you the very best. Regards, Lynn Kenneth Pecknold.

  • t..they are so beautiful!!! *runs into room to make one*
