Come on Slash you are too smart to not educate yourself on what is going on within the zoo confinement of animals.
The L.A. Zoo's website states that:
"Status of Elephants at the Los Angeles Zoo
Billy, the Zoos 23-year-old male Asian elephant, is in good health." - Honestly, who in their right mind would believe their mumbo jumbo that the reason Billy bobs his head Incessantly is because he is thinking of eating.
The head bobbing is a symptom of insanity and as evidenced by this video the Los Angeles Zoo has a history of not adequately providing proper care for its elephants. The real motive is financial and if they really cared about Billy he would already be at PAWs Sanctuary. Why do you believe Billy would live in solitude at the Sanctuary?
Have you spent time watching any of the animals doing repetitive circles within their confinements? Why do so many animal activists and animal welfare organizations disagree with the Los Angeles Zoo?
As a kid I went to the L.A. Zoo and I also used to look at the puppies at Farmer's Market not knowing then they probably all came from puppy mills. BHHS 1980

Slash, a long-time animal enthusiast, needs your help. Animal activist, whose ultimate goal is to shut down zoos forever, have managed to convince the Los Angeles City Council to stop completion of a magnificent new Asian Elephant exhibit in the Los Angeles Zoo. The final decision to scrap the exhibit will be made very soon.
Slash needs you to contact The Los Angeles City Council and express your support to preserve for the future these beautiful animals.
For Los Angeles City Council contact information go to: www.billyshome.com
Slash and Billy express their profound gratitude for your help and support.
Go protest at the Circus. Not at the zoos.

42 f**king million dollars spent on the exibit and death of elephants. Money that could of been donated to charity. Money that could of been donated to hospitals or a cancer orginization. MONEY THAT COULD OF HELPED THE WORLD. But no, we gotta spend it on stupid stuff like caging animals in small ass rooms.

:( oh dear...poor ellys :(.... I felt so bad when I saw Billy at the zoo last. The zoo may be good for some animals, but I do see how these large ones need to be able to roam free in much larger areas. I always thought zoos were helping injured animals, etc....hmmmm....anyone here ever been to the Metro Zoo in Miami? They have a really neat set up there. feels like you are on a safari....I find it hard to believe these zoo workers would be so insensitive!!!
