  • Am I crazy or this song just sounds exactly like "Pedacinho do Céu" from Waldir Azevedo?

  • @sergiodias22vix-- I do hear a similarity in the chord progression.

  • What's this song title? And that at 2:03 too...

Beautiful song, it's real music. One of the best i ever heard.

  • It's called 'Valiant & Valiant' by Alan Silvestri.

  • That's my favorite scene in the film. It tells you everything you need to know about Eddie Valiant without a single line of dialogue.

  • I am pretty sure the inspiration for this was actually a tune from the 1940's called "But Beautiful." Look up "but beatutiful - jazz flugelhorn." Same instrument so you can REALLY tell the similarities.

  • One of my favorite movies ever! This song is beautiful

  • Bob Hoskins didn't play Eddie Valiant in this film - he WAS Eddie Valiant. This is my favourite cue in the film - gives off a sort of feeling of reminiscence and mild sadness, but also brings back positive as well as negative memories at the same time.

  • 1 person misclicked, or will rot in hell.

  • I was listening to "Dear Kathy" by Benny Golson this morning, and I swear that song must have been the inspiration for "Valiant and Valiant." Very somber, drown-it-away-in-a-bottle kind of feel to it. Good stuff.

  • This music makes me wish I was a detective in the 20's. Love that old style music.

  • @sergiodias22vix I must be deaf because I can barely hear any similarity between the two at all. Only a little in the bass.

  • @TheShockMaster Yeah, Bob is the best. ;D

  • @lilmissmusic2012

Given the logic of today's moronic, business-oriented film studios, I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to cast Justin Bieber as Eddie Valiant. Thank God it wasn't made today. Bob Hoskins freaking nailed the role.

  • @kayin72 Yeah, I can't seem to find that one either.
