Released in 1999, SNK's Neo Geo Pocket Color didn't exactly set the world on fire. However, it's still serves as a interesting piece of video game history and has a library of surprisingly fun, if simplistic, games. Prices are fairly reasonable on eBay, and if you have the spare cash, I say go for it!

  • Neo geo pocket color has very good library of games. They are not exellent, however I find myself playing it more than my gameboy

  • i had one of these when they first came out pretty cool system too bad it didnt last

  • kitty kat at 6:58

  • KITTY IN THE BACKGROUND!!! :3

  • Its cool. You can buy a japanese game and it displays in english

  • I just Ordered the Silver Version with Sonic the Hedgehog. It Should be here soon! Im very excited for it.

  • I have one of these. It was a pretty nice little system. I played SNK vs Capcom on it a lot. I have lost the cover for the watch battery, though.

  • awesome review, I might just get one of those...

  • I've been thinking about getting one of these.

  • some games (such as samurai showdown 2), the A button acts like a gamboy B button

  • great review! I just got one in camo blue from my friend a couple hours ago after trading one of my GBA SP's with him and it also came with sonic pocket adventure

  • no problem ;)

  • great review(s) - love the color coordination with your systems! Just ordered the "carbon" black NGPC - and I can't wait. A system that totally owns the GBC!

  • Link's Awakening? Mother 3? Showoff.

Good review though, thinking of picking one up. Might be difficult down in New Zealand though, since as far as I'm aware it never got a PAL release.

  • I'm jealous of those hard plastic cases, those are really nice.

And my cats are just naturally crazy, haha. :)

  • Nice vid, a solid info package. And I always love how your cats are in the background. Do you hide treats everywhere so that they will appear on you videos? :)

The cardboard boxes are pretty cool, but yeah, here in Europe we had the plastic cases, which were somewhat modelled after the home-Neo-Geo game cases.

  • Definitely a GBA. It has a better library. But if you ever have a few extra bucks after, a NGPC is a pretty cool alternative.

  • Hey, no problem man. And thanks a lot!

I have Biomotor Unitron, Dark Arms, King of Fighters, Match of the Millennium, Metal Slug 2nd Mission, Pocket Tennis Color, Samurai Shodown 2, Card Fighters Clash, and Sonic. Most are pretty good.

What do you have for it? I could go for something new.
