Last century, many Russian writers fled abroad to escape Communism. But most failed to reconcile themselves to the loss of homeland. The most famous Russian exile, Alexander Solzhenitsyn, returned home soon after the fall of the Soviet regime. Today well be talking to another Russian author of repute, who left his motherland in the 1970s, but has so far shown little interest in returning. He says hes very comfortable in New York City. Our guest today is prominent essayist Aleksandr Genis.
