UPDATE: I LEARNED HOW TO PLAY WITHOUT A LAG, BUY EASYCAP A HARDWARE THAT LETS YOU CONNECT COMPOSITE CONNECTIONS TO YOUR COMPUTERS THROUGH USB!! I HAVE BOUGHT IT AND TRIED IT AND IT WORKS! BUT STILL NO HD, BUT ITS BETTER THAN NOTHING.

Method shown in video:

Many have asked, is it possible to use a laptop screen to play a ps3 or xbox? the answer is yes. what you need is a tv tuner for your laptop, without that its not possible. And some other stuff. I hooked up my ps3 to my sony aw290 and played COD4 on it. but the problem with doing that is that there is a 4-5 lag on what you do and what actually shows up on the screen. So this CONCEPT is not practical. I mean this isnt very hard to set up. Im not some techy guy, i just thought it would work and used common sense and a converter box and it worked. lol

Tthere is a HUGE lag, like 4-5 seconds, and you can't play videos and games there is such a lag that when you move the analog stick you move 5-6 later in the game and its not practical, thats why it looks like i was shooting like crazy and out of control, cause i was trying to get it into control but there lag was sooo bad and long. It not practical at all.

But to do it, you need a laptop with a built in tv tuner, like one that has a coaxial cable for over the air or you can buy a tv tuner that is usb and has a coaxial on the other side which usually for over the air channels, a cable box (RF Modulator) that converts composite into coaxial and with that you need a coaxial cable, and you use that to connect the coaxial into the input coaxial on the tv tuner.

Things that you need:

Here is the RF Modulator used to convert the ps3 output into coaxial and to the tv tuner: http://www.computercablestore.com/RF_Modulator_AV_Composite_PID1207.aspx

TV Tuner:
and you dont have to have a built in tv tuner like me, you can buy an external one like this: http://www.buy.com/prod/avermedia-avertv-hybrid-volar-max-usb-2-0-interface-a...
see how it has a usb on one side and coaxial on the other? i use that too sometimes instead of the built in,so i can get over the air channels

Coaxial Cable:
http://www.computingsolutions.ca/catalog/images/5ft.%20coaxial%20cable.jpg

and you need the basic composite cables(red, yellow, white) cable that comes with the ps3 to connect to the RF Modulator.

You can do it like that, but trust me, its not worth it or does it make sense, because there is a lag that makes it useless to do it. Its just going to be a waste of money. I did it because i already had everything and wanted to see if it was possible. Its a cool idea, just not a great working one that can be used to play games like on a tv.

Thats most likely because the hmdi connection on your laptop is an output not an input

  • @alistairf59 no because the hdmi port on your computer is an output, not an input

  • @gameplayer502 i could use a medal for my cod but a cookie is better oh and do u still play ps3 and wha ur psn im trying to add more ppl

  • @toaoflifeandshadow

want a cookie or a medal? lol

  • @gameplayer502 mine is both.......ha..

  • so can we use an HDMI Cable to connect to computer screen?

  • @angel2162 we have the technology..if i can do basically what my computer does in the palm of my hand and watch video is HD on my phone then theres no reason companys cant manufacture laptops with an HDMI INPUT..nough said

  • @lazercannoncheck Do you even know just HOW MANY people request things they want to add to computers and laptops? and just how long it takes to make and test a laptop for proper function? plus they'd have to customize the laptop and the components their selves. and also depends on the budget of the company and if or not they even want to do it, for that matter. totaling up to YEARS for it to be fully tested and ready for market. all that, when you can just buy hdmi to vga cable for total of 5USD
