A couple years ago I met a girl on facebook. I messaged her and told her that I saw her on match.com. She was shocked and told me she doesn't have a match profile! That's when I realized that those sites are a scam, and full of fakes profiles just trying to leach money off lonely guys. Then after trying pof it's like there's nothing but picky girls on there. I've gotten really discouraged with online dating and it's like the only practical place for me to meet people. I dont know what I can do

POF and probably other dating sites are a BUYER'S MARKET FOR WOMEN. Sad but true. Men don't set the prices or set the expectations, the women do, and they can lower the quality of what they offer and still get a lot of interested offers.

Hence why a lot of women have short or blank "about me" profiles and just "hot" pics. That makes their personality seem as interesting as the bottom of your shoe.

I was on 10 dating sites, sent off over 600 messages and only got three replies. One told me how ugly I was. Another told be to **ck off. And the final one said I should turn gay.
