It IS the bike that prompted the 187mph speed limit on newer bikes. This bike is capable of over 200mph speeds in STOCK form.. The zx12 is faster, dont let age fool you when your comparing a hyper bike to liter bike, yamaha in a 1/4mile aspect are generally the slowest.

i hate to say it, but i have a 05 r6 and only have a gear, pipe and weight 205 and have ran 10;92 in the 1/4.both bikes should be alot quicker.maybe its the rider or alltitude.nice bikes.

The Yamaha trumped the ZX in MPH which is a better indicator of real world power. The ZX also looks like it has an extended swing arm which definitely got it out of the hole quicker. 2 badass bikes none the less.
