A toddler died after being severely bitten by one of his familys pet dogs at his southeast Cape Coral home. Cape police, fire and EMS responded to a 911 call at 7:41 a.m. about a boy bitten by an animal at 235 S.E. 45th Terrace. Liam Perk, 2, was bitten in the neck area by his familys 8-year-old male Weimaraner, officials reported. We dont know anything for sure, but it appears the child walked by the dog and for whatever reason the dog was startled, police spokeswoman Connie Barron said, adding that it appears there was no direct provocation.

  • If it has a mouth, it can bite... That's what mouths are for. regardless of species, even. Eveything with a mouth can bite.

  • @Christian82869

I am not going to attack you like some of the others on here with their comments. I just wanted to ask if u though it was the 2 year old's fault. I own two weimeraners, but I know what they are capable of. Golden Retrievers are also gentle by nature but rank in the top five every year in biting people.I LOVE dogs but love people more. If a dog kills a person, particulalry a child in its own family, it should be put down..And again, i am a dog lover. But I do have perspective.

  • @kimmois1 You are an astonishingly intelligent person who can find just the right words to explicitly express your very strong feelings. I hope you are a parent, because your children will one day help run this country and the world into the ground. You are right about dogs, any dog can bite, but you should also probably realize that dogs are domesticated and don't usually bite without cause... Like not having supervision. Parenting at work here.

  • Weims are one of the most gentle breed out there. Unsupervised children alone with any animal is chemistry for potential issue. If no one was around who's to say the child didn't unintentionally provoke the dog too. Don't know. All I know is that this breed is not a violent breed and very people oriented. It's sad all around.

  • @kimmois1 sounds like you need a hug... Bitter, party of 1, your table is now ready.

  • @Christian82869 You are such a stupid cunt. Of course the dog was put down, it killed a child you stupid hippy cunt. And stop blaming the fucking kid, you negligent cuntwipe, any dog is capable of killing, it;'s an animal with hunter instincts. You really deserve to die, here's hoping you do very soon. Peace out arshole.

  • FINALLY.....it's not a Pit Bull! Now for all you people who want to kill and ban Pit Bulls.....we better kill and ban ALL dogs.

  • negligent owners + negligent parents leaving the dog and child unattended

  • "the couple had two weimereimers"

  • This is truly a sad incident. I own a Weimeriner myself and I'm in disbelief of this. If the child was unattended and the dog near the child, maybe the child grabbed the ears and pulled and would not let go ? Kinda like children do when we hold them and they latch onto your hair and not release. This breed is not an attacker!! What happened to the dog?? I hope it was not put down.
