No we're not at war with Afghanistan, perhaps years ago when the Taliban was in charge you could say we were at war with Afghanistan, but a formal declaration of war was never made. These people making IED's aren't soldiers, they're civilian terrorists.
People have went to war for resources for thousands of years, better get used to it. You're the first person to say we went to war for gold though lol.
