  • @bigalhouk All forms of modern music has strong American/African American roots. Remember? Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Manuel Gottsching, YMO ect was pioneering but they didn't create in a Vacuum or a Void and they most certainly was influenced by music of Black American origins. Even if on the surface these influences aren't apparent.

  • @NaPzt3R Actually Rap originated (apparently) from convicts reading each other their "rap sheets" or what they'd been locked up for... "I did this, I did that, I did that to yo momma" etc As for Jazz and Soul being heavily influenced by African music... It wouldn't exist if it wasn't for African music. Most modern popular music is based on the blues scale which originated from the songs sung by groups of slaves back when European music was just major or minor.

  • @MrDungusamongus Kraftwerk is Electronic music not Techo

  • Why wasn't techno born in Le Havre then?

  • @AhmedSomaliao keep racism out of music? - ha that's a laugh - the rap genre is full of racism...

Your willing to dismiss Fullswag as merely ignorant and you offer him all the usual excuses.. that he has been disillusioned by a CULTURE that THRIVES to keep him that way.. So what the hell is that supposed to mean then?

and i'd turn the question around - why is it so important for Detroit to pretend that it invented Techno?.. again i direct you 1:57 to 3:13 - no mention of Kraftwerk there???

  • @atlantichouse That Fullswag person is clearly ignorant and has been disillusioned by a culture that thrives to keep him that way. But after seeing your page and what you stand for, you are clearly someone who sees and to go down to a level where you comment racism in music is what surprises me. A real music fan keeps race away from music. I don't know why is it so important for you regarding the Kraftwerk influence, will it change the essence of the matter and beauty of Techno?

  • @AhmedSomaliao so why don't you flag up racist comments such as @Fullswags below who states that all music is from africa-americans and that europeans haven't created anything? why i'm i singled out for the third degree?.. (oh i wonder!)

i have watched the entire documentary and Kraftwerk is briefly mention but only after having to wade through loads of bullshit about how Detroit created it all really. i suggest you watch the opening comments 1:57 to 3:13 no mention of Kraftwerk there???

  • @atlantichouse Just because the majority of the Detroit DJs happen to be of African-American decent doesn't mean you have to bring the race matter into subject. If you did your homework right and actually watched the entire documentary, you'll find that they keep mentioning Kraftwerk as the main influence of Techno. Every documentary about Techno spoke about how Kraftwerk were influential in the sound. PLEASE KEEP RACE AWAY FROM MUSIC...you racist!

  • they didnt really site being influenced by a certain race or culture or music, because most popular artists that have actually made differences usually dislike everyone in the world or most people, especially those trying to defend a certain culture or thing. Morrissey, for example, (very important in dance music) wouldnt not defent the middle age times or victorian times because the people of the time sucked dick. shakespeare would've said the same thing about the people before him, and so on

  • @FullSwagSyceGame507 ..So basically dumbo... Europeans - far from not creating any form of modern music (as you suggest) - created the modern sound we hear today. African Americans simply stole it, re-branded it and passed it off as their own.

So you stfu and respect YOUR betters.

  • @FullSwagSyceGame507 Ha Ha The European created Techno.. African Americans simply imitated the sound and then (laughably) claimed creation rights.

KRAFTWERK swung by Detroit back in what 1976/7? (i forget) on tour and then loe and behold a few years later Detroit suddenly invented Techno. WOW!

Research it yourselves if you don't believe me.. Detroits claim on the creation of Techno is pure BULLSHITE.

..and incidently Afrika Bambatty boy ALSO stole the sound of Kraftwerk back in the day.
