In which we begin our quest as to how to teach prolog how to count. Our point of departure is Alex the talking Parrot. We model a bit of the parrot's brain in prolog, and ask the question, is Alex really counting?

  • I was expecting this lecture series to get into the deeper repercussions of KC in terms of algorithmic information theory. Those ideas can (reasonably) bridge into concepts of order and randomness in nature.

You never got around to this and the lectures sort of petered off into prolog tutorials. The audience may be led to believe that KC is nothing but a little "game" of printing strings in programming languages. It is a much deeper result than that.

  • @otonanoC I never got around to finishing this series; we had a world wide economic crisis which made me work like a dog to keep all the fires put out at work. Perhaps as the Economy stabilizes I'll be able to find time to finish the seies.

  • Nice tutorial in prolg, Can you do more please? and Also what enviorment are you coding he prolog in ?

    I LOVE AI. 5 stars!

  • thanks! Yeah, I do eventually want to finish this series, I've just been too busy. As you might guess, these take an incredible amout of time to put together.

  • I've read Romans 1:20 many times.

  • what does any of this have to do with intelligent design?

  • "Compiled!" Now, that is a spiritual word if I ever read one. I have not had this thrill since Java. PHP (which I have been teaching myself) doesn't compile, fer darn sakes, and neither does SPSS (ditto). I notice that it is not "CompiledCode4life." How sad, such lack of mystery for the uninitiated! ;-)

  • LOL

All people know that God exists, even if some lie to others and to themselves that they don't believe.

You were the one who came after me with off-topic remarks.

If someone is to be called a religious zealot, that's you, not me.

  • Also, I assume you are joking about that last comment.

Because it would be completely ridiculous to use the bible to make a persuasive argument that people who do not believe in the bible do not exist, especially if you are trying to make that argument to a presumed atheist.

It is completely nonsensical to both legitimize atheists as a group of people and attempt to insult them by saying they don't exist.

  • I don't think you're a bad person, I just dislike your rhetoric that is essentially IRRELEVANT to the topic of the actual video.

I am not telling you to keep away from me, I just think it is ridiculous to turn everything into a debate about religion and politics.

Post all you like about religion on videos about, say, the pope or atheism

The point of a forum like this is to voice relevant opinions. That is all I was doing, please don't take it so personally.

  • Just block me if you don't like me.

Or does that contradict the first satanic principle:

"Do what thou wilt, that is the whole of the Law( satanic law)"

You atheists are so easy to read.

Please keep away from me and I'll keep away from you.

PS: you guys are exposed: Romans 1:20.

    There are no atheists

  • you know, i am always impressed how people can turn ANY conversation into an irritating and intense religious and political debate.

Go debate on god versus athiests blog.dcom or something and keep your religious talk away from my language videos.

    thanks
