Additional detailed instructions on how to tune a 1-phase TransVerter (ferro-resonant ZPE reactor) which can be applied to 3-phase Transverter or RotoVerter with additional digital control switches and diodes.

Complete open source of diode plug topology and extractor topology for extracting anomalous excess reactive power from a nonlinear resonant LC tank in the spirit of Hector D. Perez Torres.

In order to fully grasp these special electronics topologies, it is suggested to read Dr. Terence W. Barrett article "Tesla's nonlinear oscillator-shuttle circuit (OSC) theory" providing one possible SU(2) theory of reactive feedback oscillator topologies which you can apply to ferro-resonant SMPS (Switched Mode Power Supply).

P.S.1. All parts of this video have been done with 33% PWM duty cycle and full H-bridge controlled by iMac java HMI.

P.S.2. Friends mentioned with whom I'm working worldwide and all are electrical engineers: Dan Combine (Belgium), Raivo (Estonia), Rosko Farkas (Hungary) and polartronic (France).

Here are all of my ferroresonant transformers. And one scope shot in resonance. Will post more.

  • @minde4000 go to junkyards and look for Panasonic MWO but special ones: on the glass door, it is written INVERTER. You can also buy them on eBay but quite expensive. Then, view my YouTube video on Plasma Driver Part 6 providing deconstruction of the pana HV-PSU PCB. You need two of this trafo to then reproduce my 5-PH FR reactor.

Have you ever tried or heard TV on new amorphous alloys like metglass, nickel cobalt and such? With very high permability or very little magneto-striction.

  • @minde4000 Nope so far but i would like very much to try except i don't know where to find them in junkyards.

If you want to try my setup, go to junkyard & look for Sharp or Panasonic MWO (inverter type).

P.S.1. What is your actual TV trafo ?

P.S.2. Please be kind publish a video of your actual FR trafo to confirm reproduction of Jinis, Dan, myself,...

ETA - estimated time of arrival. I am sure your H-bridge driver is much more sophisticated than mine but I am glad I have the one I have its good for what I need for now. I was asking about power source. Are you using only variac diode bridge and cap bank as your supply? Is your cap bank large enough to smooth out ripples? I also have variac but after last time my diode bridge blew up for unknown reason ever since I was reluctant to use this combination as my power supply...

  • @minde4000 As you can see on my recent videos, I'm using Philips lab power supplies PE154X series with X= 0 or 1 or 2. I use these lab PSU (no voltage ripple & current protected) because best to first learn with small power trafo.

I tought its easier to find those inverters I will check out my local surplus store but I doubt they have anything so I will just stick with what I have. I did wind AWG 15 sedondary on my 8" toroid but thats it so far. Need AWG 12 for primary I suppose gonna be very hard to wind.

I will rather wait for your new video with complete system.

  • @selfonlypath

I cannot find such trafos that look like yours on google. Would you happen to have a part number or type of MWO it was taken from? Thanks.

  • @selfonlypath

I am sorry. I confused you with Dan. He is using variac bridge and cap bank. I would like to know how well that works for him. Oh well lets just wait for your new video.

  • @minde4000 what does it mean ETA ?

I need time to self-movie my new video with digital diode plug :(

Dan build for me an octatron (8 isol-drivers) so my digital diode plug is controlled by software (no NE555).

So far I was using Dan's quadratron (4 isol-drivers) controlled by PWM software but was only able to H-bridge. Now 4 IGBTs and 4 diodes for H-bridge then 4 IGBTs, 4 diodes & 2 caps for diode plug also controlled by PWM software.
