These video clips were taken during my driving tour around the Niagara Escarpment on July 18, 2007. As much as I love Toronto, I occasionally need to get out into the country and enjoy the beauty and serenity of Ontario's rural areas. So at 9 am I met my friend Karel who is a local expert of the area and we set off on a discovery of Halton Region Conservation areas: we started with Mount Nemo Conservation Area, stopped in Lowville, and then admired the Iroquois longhouses in Crawford Lake. After a brief stop in the Hilton Falls Conservation Area we explored the Victorian-era Main Street of Milton as well as its scenic Mill Pond.

From here we drove on towards the Spencer Gorge Conservation Area where we enjoyed the view of two waterfalls: Tew's Falls and Webster's Falls. We also hiked out to Dundas Peak, and the rocky platform with its sheer vertical drops provided a stunning view of Dundas and the City of Hamilton. I capped off my country tour with a leisurely drive along Lake Ontario's shoreline past the cities of Burlington, Oakville and Mississauge. Also, my FREE travel ebooks containing stories from my trips to destinations such as Sicily, Havana, Mexico City, New York City, Chicago, Florida, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Vancouver, Halifax and many others are going up right now at http://www.travelandtransitions.com/ebooks.html.

  • Nice view of the track there..Have too get there one day...Can you tell me how you would get there too that viewing point..?

  • @canadiantimberwolf1: Good question. This info is from the Hamilton Conservation Authority:

Spencer Gorge / Webster’s Falls Conservation Area, Fallsview Road. From Hwy 403 take the Hwy 6 North exit. At Clappison’s Corners, turn left onto Hwy 5 (Dundas Street). At the light, turn left on Brock Road 46. At the first stop sign, turn left on Harvest Road, then turn right onto Short Road and follow it to the Webster’s Falls parking lot. Follow the signs. Good luck!
