I think YouTube have themselves pretty well covered re. accountability. What they can legally get away with, and what they have committed themselves to, especially by declaring in their own Guidelines that they want to protect freedom of speech, are two different things. Legally they may have their asses covered. Morally they are letting us down.

I wonder to what institutions other than the law, public opinion and paying advertisers Youtube is accountable. In the netherlands there are public institutes like the consumentenbond addressing public grievances. Don't similar institutions exist to which concerns about Youtube could be submitted?
