Watch the documentary, "battle for the trees". Scientists say that our practice of replacing deserts with monocultures of trees doesn't do shit for wildlife and an healthy ecosystem, except giving a visual confort to our decrepit mass industrial psychology. Anyway, even if counting trees is your thing and there is nothing I can do about it, the fact is we hardly have any trees left from 400 years ago. The tendency is clearly in destroying nature, with 200 species being wiped out every day.

PETA (PEOPLE EUTHANIZING THE ANIMALS) HAS KILLED 2000++ DOGS -CATS EVERY YR RUNNING FOR LAST 25 YRS ALL IN NAME OF ETHICAL ANIMAL RIGHTS. THEN HAS NERVE TO CALL NOKILL RESCUERS, BREEDERS AND SO CALLED 'HOARDERS" AN ABUSER? DONT BELIEVE ME? GOOGLE "PETA EUTHANIZATION RATES" THEN ASK SELF ''WHO IS REAL ABUSER HERE? A HOARDER? A BREEDER? A NO KILL RESCUER? OR AN "ETHICAL" ANIMAL RIGHTS GROUP THAT TAKES IN 40 MILLION $ YR TO "SAVE ANIMALS" YET EUTHANIZES BY TRUCKLOAD/THOUSANDS?

@Darkstorms15 @TheOpenMinded12460 How could you say that? The ELF are arsonists, they are putting CO2 in the air, green house gasses, endangering life, and making more pollution than the house ever was.

GO ELF!!!

Some signs of recuperation come from the USA. But just search "deforestation united states" in google images to get the big picture.

....oh, and fuck environmentalists. I don't like them either. They are about as useful as stamp collectors.

From what I have been reading, some places have in fact been recovering from massive actions of deforestation. Yes. But overall, the industrial civilization is in a process of destroying the environment and creating a less sustainable world. You fun stats may be amusing for museums, but they don't necessarily reflect what is going on in terms of real life demands. So what if we are "aborbing more carbon"? We are all closer to living with freaking oxygen tanks in our backs.

Some sources here would be useful. I am not aware on your theory about houses being a new postive species for humans/earth. All sources I have seen indicate that the loggin industry, namely the one involved in building houses, has lead to a process of deforestation. I believe there are less trees, and therefore less sources of oxygen. I don't understand your wild theories on carbon absorption, but it seems to go against any sense of an healthy ecosystem. Perhaps some data would be good.
There is much more concern over the harm to the natural environment from the houses development. There actions will detere similar building projects, saving future lives and habitats. With the amount of polution from industries every day, this equates to smoking a cigerette in regards to co2 emissions.
