Hi guys,
Sorry it's been a while since a new vid. Last one got blocked :(
Anyway, I thought I'd put a challenge to maybe a few of you out there. A few years back Tom Baker was the voice that read out any texts to you over the phone if you sent a text to a BT landline. For a bit more on this, go to http://www.tombakersays.com/. Read the info? Hope so. Anyway, the guy who runs this site, Mark Murphy, made a few music tracks with Tom Baker "Singing" (William Shatner style) some classics. Video Killed The Radio Star being one of them. But what I've wondered is for a while, what would it be like to hear Tom Bakers voice ACTUALLY singing the songs?
It wasn't long ago that I discovered the potential of Auto-tune, and its capability to even tune spoken words into a melody. So, the challenge I want to put to you guys, is to auto-tune Tom Baker's Video Killed The Radio Star! (I'd do it myself but a) I don't have the software and b) I'm a bit clueless!)
I'm not absolutely sure how the whole process works, but I'm assuming that you probably need the instrumental and accapella versions of the track separately. So here's The Accapella version I've made of the track. You can find the instrumental here: http://www.facebook.com/video/video.php?v=1680934336822 (moved due to fear of copyright breaching)
I would hope that someone who is fairly good with auto-tune can make a proper song out of this!
So there's the challenge. Download both videos, convert them to wav/mp3, and hopefully get to work. Cheers for reading this far.
(And if you need a good guide as to what the tune should sound like vocally, you can find it here:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W8r-tXRLazs
Plus one more thing - Don't worry that the video seems silent to begin with. You get the sound at about 16 seconds in. This has been done for your convenience just as that's when the vocals start on the actual tom baker track! :)
awsome :)
