We adopted Lishu, a beautiful chow mix (with what we don't know) from the SPCA a few months ago. It was love at first sight for me. She's about 3 and probably hasn't seen snow in her life until the 2010 snow storm here in Tidewater. She usually breaks the door down when we ask her if she wants to go outside. This is her reaction to her introduction to snow. She was so matted when they found her she had to be shaved to the skin. But her coat is beautiful now and she's filled out nicely. She's absolutely sweet but has a few quirks - loves men, wary of women; won't eat if you walk behind her, loves bathroom faucet water vs. kitchen faucet water, etc. Highly recommend adopting - she' brought so much joy into our lives. She was worth the 5 year wait - that's how long it took us to finally adopt when we had to put our first Chow Chow, PinShih (14), to sleep because of bloat. Sorry for my voice - I didn't realize how annoying I sounded !
