Hey, it was Clinton that gave us our surplus, McCain. All the GOP did was try to get Bill impeached.

Not only did we impeach Clinton, we also GAVE the nation the surplus through the Contract with America. And don't give me crap about Bush's debt; Bush is no conservative. He is a spendthrift Neocon who felt it was necessary to impose environmental regulations, federalizing public education, expanding aid to foreign countries, big government, big spending, government intervention in the economy, bailouts, etc; none of which can be remotely considered conservative.

Comparing Bush to Clinton! LOL Clinton did a great job, created millions of jobs, longest sustained economic groth! heck, if bush did HALF the job clinton did he would be far more popular.

I'm not sure what McCain thought he was doing making that comparison. I suppose he was trying to dig up stuff about that Monica Lewinski scandal and say Clinton was liar and then cowtow Bush to that, but it still isn't that smart of a move. Clinton got elected twice and despite the scandal people loved him, if this was the ad he was pushing it's no wonder Bush got the republican ticket and won the election.

You may need to check your history... Unemployment dropped in the bush years, the GDP was up, and the stock market reached record highs... That was until the democratic lawmakers you know as "Congressmen" voted against any regulation of fannie and freddie and all consumer confidence went down the tube because morons were taking out loans everyone and their grandma knew they couldn't pay back and people had to lay off workers because they couldn't take loans out, and it just spiraled downwards...
