Battletoads NES Part 1 - Level 1

I love Battletoads and I've never beaten this game. I'm playing it using the emulator VirtuaNES. I have made it a goal for myself to beat this game without using any save states at all.

The first level isn't hard at all. I got hit by the boss at the end, but other than that, this wasn't bad.
