When should you take a break from training? Our resident Shredder asks if it is a good idea to take a rest from continuous training after 12 weeks.

In my answer I discuss my previous experience with over-training and burnout back in 2000 and the optimal time to take a rest.

N.B. The Shredder Sunday Episodes are a weekly video series documenting all the lastest news and Q&A from the ShredderSphere - real time physique transformation & weight loss blogs.

  • You should comment with things that are relevant if you are mentally capable of such.

  • Do you actually live in that shithole?

  • Hey question IS it a legitimate method to do ANY callestetics at all durring your overtraining recovery time??

  • I was pushing 170 and then when I crashed I lost and I weigh 158. It does suck but that just motivates me even more.

Never thought losing weight would be a bad thing but that really strikes down the confidence level.

  • me too, i push myself too much and i loss 2 pounds (of muscle) and i trained with shoulder pain... i'm so stupid... i'm gonna do 2 weeks of bodyweight exercises to recover...

  • exactly what happend to me

  • I think I might have burned out myself recently within a 2 month period. I train long and hard and I had plenty of energy when doing it, then all of a sudden I could keep it up anymore and I felt exhausted and didnt want to work out.

    I guess thats what happened.

  • or maybe he's a bald guy...
