  • Hey great video and beautiful stream. I'm in the Scranton area of PA and despite the warmish weather, have only caught a couple this winter. Is this stream anywhere near the Scranton area? (you dont have to tell me the exact stream, i was just curious in what area its in). I've mostly been using night crawlers on my spinning rod and nymphs on my fly rod with not a lot of luck.

  • @xEM1N3Mx The stream name is right in the title of the flick......it is no secret...it is a tributary to Penns Creek---about 2 hours and 20 minutes or so from Scranton.......I do guide on Penns and this trib......I have been landing some wild trout on Pins Minnow Stick Baits in a brown trout pattern.....and also on Dry flies / nymphs...check out my website for reports from this winter........

No ice fishing this year......it is still winter and waters are cold.....fish deep

  • great video! fun watching, how do you do in the winter? I'm doing terrible this winter, any tips?

  • @FlynBass With the warmer weather this winter--I have done well tossing stickbaits, Yozuri brand in a brown trout pattern--my shoulders aren't what they used to be and stripping line all day can't happen-- I typed a huge response, but it was too long, so I deleted it.......I'll give you or anyone winter fly patterns if you go to my FACEBOOK page and hit like........ask any questions you want and I'll do my best to answer......wintertime means sluggish fish....tons of great pics from December

  • What type of fly were you using?

  • @Holyjtizzle123 started out with a big bushy dry fly, then switched to a CDC caddis.......

  • @PittsDick77 top to bottom is beautiful !!! and the best of all is that it empties into the best Trout Stream in PA--- Penns Creek ---- that entire area is like going back in time ---- sort of like the Jackson River area in Virginia...........

  • @Imxaxmac what's a steelhead?

  • where im at , im catching 20 to 30 fish everytime i go out,, all between 12 inchs and 30 inches..all rainbows, brooktrout, and steelhead, its a place thats right under a 8 foot waterfall so the fish are just stacked on top of each other, i fish with a Float, I drift with a wax worm or a very small spawn sack with only about 3 to 4 eggs in it... I couldnt handle catching only 3 inch fish the whole time..

You might be able to repair the rod depending on the break. Have a custom rod builder look into it.

Alternatively, a custom rod builder will likely be able to build you a new tip.

I know of it........never fished it........the family and I are trying to purchase a house in Schuylkill County to run a Bed & Breakfast out of.........that stream will be very close by........primary stream will be Mahantango Creek.....which has a nice March Brown hatch.......and some honker carp......big smallies and stocked trout--also loaded with some nice sized Fallfish
