We had an Obama bash in Philippe's bar on Tuesday night, Jan. 20th 2009.

This clip was done in part to celebrate Philippe's neighborhood bar, as a RAC.

(See notes on Nina's Little Shop for explanation of a RAC)

The bar is under Philippe's house and normally the drinks flow on Friday nights, but this was a Tuesday not to be missed.

Like the rest of the world, we wish Barak Obama the very, very best, cognigsant of the very daunting challenges ahead for him.

We guess he'll never see this, never get Philippe's invitation to drop in, but if any hint of our thoughts were to reach him, we'd like the whisper to be the word, "fairness."

Australia used to be famous for the fair go. "Fair, go, Mate" was a way to pull someone into line who was overstepping your mark.

It was a powerful behavior stopper, as effective as a red traffic light.

Now, with our wallets full of dollars, it works less well. None the less, it's the only way to go, globally, and most of all in the Middle East, which will continue to bedevil the world unless the "fair go" is applied without fear or favor.

Can Obama do it, with the powerful whisperers all around, saying is his ear; "My go, Mr. President, not fair go!"

We can only hope and see. Mike Rubbo
