I thought I'd start off the new year with another DR.Z amps Z Wreck demo. For those of you that haven't heard of the amp, its the amp that Brad Paisley had designed for him...but don't let the country thing fool you. This amp when combined with hum buckers turns into a monster rock amp.
I have had request to do a demo with my Gibson SG Standard...it is a stock guitar from 2005 strung with 12's.
This demo is the guitar plugged straight into the amp and attenuated with a DR. Z Air Brake attenuator to help control the sheer volume...and believe me this thing is just crazy loud!
I added some effects like reverb and delay when I was doing the final mix down....but you can get a good idea of what this amps tone is all about with hum buckers for sure!
In the middle of this demo I had to go outside in the cold and help push some poor missis who was stuck in the snow in her car...lol so my hands were chilled a bit while doing this demo....you all know what thats like? lol well, here it is folks...as you requested...hope you enjoy the tones! cheers!

  • Great video - but these amps have to be heard live to truly appreciate them. There is something special about them that does not come thru on a computer speaker!

I bought one of these amps based on research , and Jason's videos prompted me to order one, best amp I have ever played thru!

    J5

  • @jammers5 very true...i live the sound in the room better...its hard to capture it with a $150 mic...lol and a computer...glad you liked the videos man...see you on the forum buddy...cheers

  • Wow, that has got to be one of the sweetest sounding amps I've ever heard. Also, nice playing as always, thanks for showing all that this amp can do!

Now I just need to find the $2700 I need to buy it...

  • @Nooseybear you be very lucky to find this amp for that price....you may get a head for that price....you need to buy this one as a set though...check dr z's site for pricing...lol cheers!thanks.

  • @jashobbsie I was thinking that if I had the money I'd only buy the head anyway. Do you think the cab makes much of the tone? Because for $1000 extra for a 2x12 that's one expensive cab...

  • @Nooseybear the speakers were part of the design and they really shape the z wreck sound for sure. i've tried a couple of cab and different speaker combinations and i have to agree...dr z got it right with this cab....i would highly recommend this cab...or find a cab with a celestion blue/gold combination of some sort...cheers!

  • great jason!!!

  • I've got an SG with 12's on it too, a 2004. Such a great tone. That amp must shake the room, man.

  • LOVE THIS KIND OF CRUNCH!!!

  • I LOVE that ZWreck.... I need to get one. I see my idol/hero Joe Walsh is using them now along with a one pickup Gibson Les Paul (he hasn't played LP's much since the early 90s). I loved that performance he did with Brad Paisley. Great recording and playing! Nice SG too! :)

  • killer tone man! Love it

  • Now that kicks some ass

  • Jason, you are absolutely right when you say these two are a great match. Fantastic tone and demo on both. Thank you and Happy New Year.

  • Man that sounds great. Great demo. Love hearing that amp on the verge of meltdown!
