Ride On St Louis is one of the centers participating in the Changes in Dynamic Trunk/Head Stability and Functional Research After Hippotherapy and is something you will be hearing more about. The research and studies that are underway are extraordinary. Long time beliefs about the positive effects regarding hippotherapy are strongly held. Now, results are showing that hippotherapy is indeed improving trunk/head stability. These skills form the foundation for many functional tasks in those being provided with Hippotherapy at Ride On St Louis and others providing hippotherapy by licensed physical and occupational therapists.
More extensive studies will help provide the necessary proof in hopes that insurance companies can pay on these claims being submitted by those they underwrite. The experience of riding a horse provides a patient rider with 3,000-5,000 repetitions in 45 minute hippotherapy session. Watch this video and help Ride On St Louis continue to provide those with disabilities they serve at www.rideonstl.org
