I don't understand republicans who don't accept this. If you vote republican, admit you're voting for wall street,, TAX CUTS FOR THE RICH, because in the end of the line...you'd rather be poor a la "joe six pack" than see the gays down the street marry.

all i ask is to accept your own party. It does not represent the middle class. It does, indeed, represent conservative social values, BUT economically you're voting against yourselves.

When you claim a company is in "good shape going forward", and that "their prospects are very solid", as well as saying they are in no "danger of going under", all this mutes out what you claim to be a warning, which was ambiguous at best, and actually made no sense surrounded by these other comments..

Do the country a favor. Excuse me, but I served my country for 5 years in the United States Army. If anyone has a right to vote its me. Second of all, At no point during this conversation did I ever say that I only get my news from political comedians. Thank you tho for calling me an idiot, and telling me not to vote, it really just shows your true colors, and lessons anything you ever have to say from here on out. If you would wake up and take a minute to jump of the celebrity band wagon you would see it's people like Bill Maher and the idiots like you that get their MAIN source of news from Comedy Central and HBO are the ones that are destroying our country. so do the country a favor and don't vote.

I agree. People need to take responsibility for their actions, and stop expecting the government to solve all of their problems. The free market works, and the occasional crises that occur are its way of removing the dead weight. Bailouts merely mask the symptoms of a growing disease.

Was it not the democrats who voted down and killed a bill to increase oversight on Freddie and Fannie in 2005? Yeah, the republicans had the majority, but it was a weak one and not enough to get the bill passed. Was it not Barney Frank who had said just weeks ago that there was nothing wrong with Fannie and Freddie and all was well? Ultimately we all messed up. We should have rejected the culture of debt. It is a foolish system for spoiled people who want stuff now and pay later.

Uh no, the 700 billion bailout was rejected by House REPUBLICANS for the sake of the economy while many Dems supported it. And let's not forget HFSC chairman Barney Frank, a DEMOCRAT who almost failed to acknowledge the financial issues of Fannie and Freddie almost a decade ago for the sake of his career. He dropped the ball, and now he's blaming house Republicans. While McCain stopped campaigning (at his expense) for the sake of the country, where is Obama? "If you need me, call me."
