Gameplay video of Rayman 2: The Great Escape for Nintendo 64 (N64). Part of the "Fairy Glade" level is shown. This 3D platformer was released by Ubisoft in 1999.

Trivia: The Rayman series began with a 2D platformer that was first developed for the Atari Jaguar and released in 1995.

  • was this your first time playing?

  • @GangBoxer: No, but it was my first time going back to it after not playing it for years.

  • The original Rayman was originally planned for the SNES and featured 2-Player

Co-Op but that version was cancelled.

  • @MamaLuigiBarrelRoll: Not true. Rayman originated as an Atari Jaguar game.

  • @jvgsjeff I never said it wasn't planned for the Jaguar. There is a website entitled "Unseen64.net" with an article about the SNES one. I think it's one of the featured articles right now.

  • @MamaLuigiBarrelRoll: Hmm, I never heard that before (nor have I heard of that site before), so I don't know. But they do say that "Ubisoft decided to move the project to the new CD-Rom consoles," yet the first version was a cartridge game (Jaguar). And I don't know why they would release screenshots of the SNES game now when they didn't release any at the time it was in development. It's an interesting story if true.

  • I miss the pre-Rabbid days. Just fun platforming, none of this mini-game rubbish.
