Compilation of the contents of my Bug / Bail Out Bag / Survival Kit. In the event of an emergency where you need to leave your home, it's good to have all of your stuff ready to go with you.

Remember the rule of 3's. You can go 3 hours without shelter, 3 days without water and 3 weeks without food.

The contents of your bag / kit should meet your necessities and not be too heavy for you to travel long distances with. If you have room for extra stuff, by all means put whatever you think you will want / need in the bag. You should also match the items in your back to the area that you live in and plan to bug out to.

  • I might have missed it but I didn't see if you had a whistle, or a signaling mirror this are two are very important

  • @VICBARable I have a whistle / compass / thermometer combo. Face paint has a mirror in it. I also have other things for signaling. However, my line of thinking isn't to be seen but not to be found. Unless of course I'm not bugging out lol.

  • Two words...

    SPARE SOCKS!

You ALWAYS want to have a couple of extra pairs of socks in your bug out bag, at least two pair of wool socks and maybe some talc powder and some new skin blister/burn covers. Your feet are your life in a survival situation, you have to make sure they are well taken care of.

Cool bug out bag though, and given me a couple of ideas on some things to add to my own.

  • @Rodshark75 Thanks for reminding me. I had every intention to order some wool socks, but had forgotten during the chaos of moving. I've added some things to it since this video as well. wire for making trip wires, Vitamin C, a pair of all weather gloves, aluminum foil and some D Links. I also have a pair of military boots that are not in the bags.

  • check out cold steel for a bigger knife

  • @LIGHTNINGLEVIS They look like nice knives, but a little too costly for my budget.

  • Yup, you're ready buddy... ^_^

  • Search YT on "DUAL SURVIVAL" and watch every episode ... Learn edible plants and first-aid BEFORE you need them ... Start wearing your pack everywhere (now) ... break in your boots ... Look at the Mosquito (brand) Hammock and the DD-Traveler Hammock ... Forget crap like the shower ... Avoid confrontation ... Escape and evade ... Henry AR-7 .22LR ... .410 Derringer (that's all) ... The more you know the less you need. Head for the brambles ... tunnel-in and hunker. Avoid roads and waterways.

  • Steve, ... I am going with "Black", for everything except my shirt. Camo-tactical says "I am well equiped" to predators and it says "I am a predator" to law enforcement, on land and in the air. The best knife combo is a few Mora Companion MGs (~$15 ea) and an Ontario SP-8 ... A Becker BK-2 or a Cold Steel Trailmaster (black blade) are both decent choices.

... I traded out my shovel for a hand pick-and-mattock ... more powerful and way more versatile. Frontier Pro Filters x4 ... TRAIN !

  • dont forget the shoe goo not only for repairing shoes but other uses as well.

  • instead of your canvas repair kit, get a roll of "Tear Aid" tape. it is in fact the absolute shit. and extremely portable as well as an instant repair.

  • Nice kit bud, I would lose the camo and go for civi clothes so not to attract attention. Maybe get a good either water bottle9stainless steel) or canteen/stove combo. Ya wool socks. Weigh it out to and try and carry it you'll know what you REALLY want with ya(food, water, fire)

Having money was a good idea. Perhaps having some "Chef-Yuck-Arr-Dee Crap-A-Roni on hand could be valuable too. Who knows, a can of Crap-A-Roni may be worth an ounce of gold, if times get real bad.

  • Great vid very informative. Seems like a lot to carry. I've prepared two bug out kits. Once for me and one for my wife. Where was your freezed dried food, or did I miss it? We also have "stay put" emergency kits ready. Basically, all of our camping stuff, extra propane, lanterns, food and water storage.

Our basic plan is we load up the SUV with everything, and if we have to "bug out" on foot and abandon the SUV then it is what we can carry.
