Crohn's disease is a condition associated with chronic intestinal inflammation that causes pain, bleeding, and diarrhea, affecting 400,000 to 600,000 people in North America. Researchers from the University of Liverpool found that a bacteria present in cow's milk called Mycobacterium paratubuerculosis releases a molecule that prevents a type of white blood cell from killing E.coli bacteria found in the body. E.coli is known to be present in increased numbers within tissue affected by Crohn's disease. It is believed that Mycobacteria are introduced into the body via cows' milk and other dairy products. Until recently, it has been unclear how this bacterium could trigger intestinal inflammation in humans.

Interesting. I'm wondering if there has been a link to Crohns and MAC? My dad was diagnosed with Crohns in the 1970s before it had a "name". He eventually died of MAC in 2007. The more I learn the more I'd be willing to use the "c" word. He knew milk hurt him even if no doctor could explain the reasoning behind his "theory".

Treatment? Why never a cure? :( Colitis is just as bad and the self-injections sting like bees.

Who are you going to listen to? The multi-billion dollar milk industry who pays millions of dollars to athletes to paint milk on their faces or the scientists and researchers who have to spend their own money to research Crohn's and MAP bacteria because pharmaceutical companies and the milk industry refuse to offer them grants?

@MartinLoronzo Yes. Not because not using it cures Crohn's, but because dairy products irritate my Crohn's. It's like it has made me lactose intolerant. When I started trying to find a connection between the two (to see if more people had trouble with it) I came across the research. Research Johne's Disease along with Crohn's Disease and milk. In my opinion, there is an actual conspiracy (yes, I said the dreaded "c" word) to cover this up because it would be costly to the dairy industry.

@Buckmizer and? stopping to use it helped you?

Motherthing, maybe it should be. Or at least it should be looked into. Whenever I have tried to research, I seem to come across roadblocks. I suffer from Crohn's and I made the milk link before I even saw anything on the internet.
