he's the reason for the teardrops on my guitar ep. 5

Ive been lying in my bed for the past 30 minutes, just staring at the ceiling. Joe is probably going to tell taylor how much he likes her. And she is most likely to feel the same way about him. I sighed. Im so stupid. I should never have fallen for joe in the first place. I always knew that I never had a chance with him. And I could never compete with taylor. Dont get me wrong, though. Taylor is nice. Shes very sweet and also a friend to everyone. Thats why I could never bring myself to hate her. Not that I had any right to, anyway. In a few hours, theyll be a couple already. And where does that left me? of course Ill forever be the bestfriend. Nothing more. I got out of bed to get ready for school. I showered, brush my teeth, and got dressed. I grabbed the first clothes that I saw in my closet. If it wasnt obvious, yes, I am moping around. I cant help it. I wasnt in the mood for breakfast either so I barely ate the food my mom prepared. She asked me what was wrong but I couldnt tell her. When I got to school, I saw joe standing beside my locker.
"hey." He said.
I opened my locker, putting some of my books in it.
"hey. So whats up?" I asked, knowing what he would say next.
"well as you can see, Im nervous like crazy because of taylor." He answered.
"hey guys!" selena beamed as she joined us. "joe are you okay?"
"not really. I think Im about to get sick." He wiped the beads of sweat on his forehead.
Selena threw a confused look at me.
"hes telling taylor how he feels about her." I explained. Her eyes widened. She took my hand and squeezed it lightly.
"uhm.. whats the rush joe? I mean, cant you tell her tomorrow? Or next week? Or next month? Or maybe even next year? You cant hurry love right?" selena said, giving an effort to stop joe. She is such a great friend.
Joe raised an eyebrow at her.
"im just saying." She mumbled.
He rolled her eyes at her.
"she's here." I whispered.
Joe followed my gaze. His face lit up as soon as he saw taylor. She smiled and waved at us.
"I guess thats my cue to go." Joe said.
"wait, youre not actually going to confess your feelings to her in a school hallway, are you?" selena questioned.
"no, of course not. I'll ask her out first. Dont worry I already got everything planned out." He assured us before leaving.
"dems.." her tone was sympathetic.
"Im fine." I lifted the corner of my mouth, hoping that it would somehow form into a smile. She hugged me. I felt tears starting to form into my eyes but I held them back. I pulled away from her.
"Im going to be okay." I sniffed.
"there are still so many guys out there who would kill for you. its joe's loss."
i laughed.
"thanks sel."
The two of us went to our separate classes. I wasnt able to focus on anything that my teacher was saying. I was lost in my own little, miserable world. But like I said before, Im going to be okay. Sure, it might take a while for me to completely get over joe but time heals everything, right? well, atleast I hope it would.
