[two weeks later]
[Selena, David, Abigail, and Jude, Selena's stepdad, are in the car]
Abby- Are we there yet?
Jude- Same answer as two minutes ago Abby. Almost.
David- [touches Selena's shoulder] Hey, you alright?
Selena- [smiles] I'm going to start charging people a dollar every time they ask me that.
[cell phone rings]
S- Hey Dem. How is everything?
Demi- [excited] Mom woke up!
S- Really?! That's great! And how's Joe?
D- He's fine. He's such a big baby though, always whining about his wrist.
S- [laughs] Sounds like he's back to his old self. I'm just glad eeryone's okay.
D- Yeah. Especially you.
S- Yeah, uh...I guess. I really don't wanna talk about...
D- Yeah, I know. But anyway, the doctors are saying that mom and Joe can both go home within the week.
J- Selena, we're here.
S- [to Demi] Gotta go!
D- Okay, bye.
Selena- [hangs up and looks out the car window at her house, taking a deep breath]
J- [parks the car in the driveway] Man, I missed this house.
[They all get out of the car and walk up to the doorstep]
J- [puts his arm around Abigail] Your mother loved this house. She hated having to leave it.
David- I don't remember it much.
J- Selena?
S- [looks up] Hm?
J- You sure you're okay with this? Living in this house after...
S- Totally! Besides, Demi, Nick, and Joe are here. And I've already gotten used to my school.
J- [smiles] That's my girl. [hugs Selena]
S- I love you, dad.
J- [breaks the hug] Dad?
S- I don't care what it says on my birth certificate. YOU are definately my father.
J- [hugs her again] I love you too, Selena.
D- You guys ready to come home?
A- Yeah, come on! [goes to the front door]
D- [looks at Selena] Its my daughter's call.
S- [smiles] Race you to the kitchen! [runs in]
D- How about some cookies?
A- [runs in after Selena] COOKIES!!!
J- [laughing] You guys do it. [plops down on the couch]
A- No, you're helping. [jumps on him]
D- DAD PILE!
J- [laughing and yelling, playing into their game; David and Selena pile on their dad]
D- Now will you bake us cookies?
J- Never! [reaches over and tickles Abby] I know your weakness...
A- [laughing] No! No, stop!
[Selena gets off her dad and goes to the smaller couch. Her dad takes advantage of that and manages to get off the couch]
D- Crap!
A- No, the prisoner is escaping!
D- [to Selena] Come on, we need three to take him down!
S- [smiles and lets her head tilt back]
A- What?
S- Nothing. Just glad to be home.
