This song is written by Steve Harris for the 1982 Iron Maiden album The Number of The Beast. The song describes a man's thoughts just before being sent to the gallows. He begins to feel terror and realizes he really is afraid of dying, despite claims that he's not. At the end of the vocal section, the man gets executed; this is followed by a long instrumental section, culminating in his ambiguous final words, "Hallowed be thy name".
I remember sitting with Robyn at Beach Station (Chennai). He was holding an Iron Maiden CD... a band i had never heard of at that time. I thank him for introducing me to the world of Iron Maiden. i still remember him say... "Listen to the last song first, for your life will never be the same again". Well, he was right about that. The song was Hallowed Be Thy Name. I dedicate this to Robyn and the million metal heads who follow Iron Maiden as a religion.
When you know that your time is close at hand, Maybe then you'll begin to understand, Life down there is just a strange illusion.

@Mahiarb It meas something like "what an asshole" but is not trying to be a dick.. its like a friendly offensive word.. in South america, is pretty usual to see something like this, i can tell u that 'cause i'm from colombia so..
