Many plastics dissolve readily in acetone. Try pouring some into a styrofoam cup. You are risking an expensive repair unless you are quite sure none of your fuel line parts are dissolvable in acetone. Even if it doesn't dissolve it, it can leach out the plasticizers and make plastic parts brittle and age prematurely
It works. but you have to start small. (1oz/10 gal) more is NOT always better. and gas dissolves things like rubber hoses and plastic parts...unless those parts were made to be used with gas...
@osiz1 hes not lying i add acetone ( 3oz/ 10 gal is my mix) to my xterra...i went from 13 mpg to 18. Every car is different. i had a 87 bronco II and it was only 1.5oz/ 10 gal. 21mpg to 29mpg. mostly highway miles though. try it yourself before you jump to conclusions.
Snopes (snopes com/autos/techno/acetone.asp) says NO to acetone. And no spare and jack? Are you crazy? I guess you ALWYAS have cell service, guaranteed.

Acetone also dissolves things like rubber hoses and plastic parts.. Great idea for a tank or two.. could get expensive after that..

how often should you add the acetone? Every time you get gas, or less often?
