@Fabiuz879 but that's not the case of this presentation, the heel is definitely in front of "koshi". You can see it when you pause it at the right time;)
@player1CR Mae geri impact area is not the heel, but that part of the foot called "koshi" (the sole of the foot with fingers up to prevent injury) and the hip is facing foward.
@Fabiuz879 It doesn't look like mawashi geri to me at all, are you sure? Because the kicking leg is almost heading up, not to the side. So it looks like more mae geri, where impact area is his heel.
yoko keri is actually pretty much a maegeri to the side however your body is still facing forwards
the third technique is sokoto which is one Shiomitsu Sensei's favourite techniques, these are the first basics set out in the Wado Karate-do Academy's syllabus
His kicks are deceptive. If you step back to block he somehow can extend and still reach you. Very powerful when he hits as he has perfect timing. Easily break a jaw.
i train karate for a few year and i dont think thats a mawashigeri... thats a Yoko geri which u kick with the side of feet... maybe you'd like to change the description. bye
Hi karate1970. I respect your comment and know where you are coing from. However with a master like Shiomitsu sensei, the subtlty with which he performs his kicks is in line with the principles of Wado Karate. That is Soft, subtle technique. Beginners have to make bigger movements in order to develop this. However, I do see your point. Shiomitsu sensei visited my dojo several times and his kicking is very fast and powerfull. Thanks for the repy.

A kick is a kick. I tend to kick more or less the same as this guy when the application is needed.
Variation of the angle from kin geri to mawashi geri done with the knee to the side.
So long as it works then forget how it looks,
