They still have Dominion in Newfoundland and Labrador, but it was spun off after A&P bought Dominion in Ontario, and then amalgamated with two other supermarket chains in the province under the Dominion name until being sold to Loblaws in 1995. All these Dominion stores in the province, mostly in St. John's, were originally supermarkets of the now defunct Ayre and Sons department store.

Yes, I remember that ad as well. It seems these ads were shown often enough, especially on CFTO.

I still have this commercial on one of my Kodak VHS tapes (in slightly better quality though). Does anyone remember the Dominion commercial similar to this one, where the shoppers are talking about the bakery items (and not the meat)?
