Custom Bagging Carousel for Gleaners Food Bank - BlueArc Engineering

Gleaners Food Bank, a non-profit in Indianapolis, Indiana, helps feed central Indiana's hungry. As part of this mission, Gleaners created the Back Sack program which provides children in low-income areas with six weekend meals.

Each Friday, volunteers fill these back sacks with kid-friendly, nutritious food —ensuring that each child has enough to eat during weekends. In hopes of expanding the program, Gleaners contracted BlueArc Engineering and sister company, Bastian Solutions, to improve their Back Sack assembly process.

With a new automated assembly line created and installed by BlueArc, Gleaners has successfully expanded the Back Sack program's reach from 3,000 children to 10,000.

The bagging carousel created for the assembly process is zero-pressure, style accumulation conveyor with variable speed control.
