Hey, i'm thinking of getting one of these and i want to know if you HAVE to strum?
cause i'd like the option just to tap the frets and i'm wondering if you can do that?

@headbanger1010 very nice tune! Have any of you guys ever messed around with the "You Rock Guitar"? I really want to get a Midi guitar but with the new Fender Squier Strat Strat coming out for Rock Band 3 I should probably wait. :-/

Beautiful playing! I'm looking hard at the EZ ag just now! You said on another post the EZAG has built-in tunings---do they still work when using it as a midi controller? Or do they only work with the built-in sounds?

Great harmonics!

very interesting
surprise

How accurate is the unit when triggering other vsts
synths etc..... Would you say it is better than using a Roland GR20?? easier more accurate etc...

Used with the Combinator of Reason 3 (and above), the NNXT in Reason can be a great thing. With the combinator you can choose to redirect the midi signal to any device according to the velocity recieved. So that you could use different samples when velocity is 14 (hammer/pull of) and when its above 15 (normal string strumming).

that is great

Very nicely done headbanger1010!! I've had my ez-ag for about a year now but haven't used it with any type of synth system. Was thinking about getting Dimension Pro but I'm new to midi stuff. In addition to the ez-ag and midi/USB interface, what other equipment would I need to get in order to get started? I have a small 70watt practice amp as well. Computer is a new PC 2.5GHz with plenty of RAM and 500G hard drive. Thanks.

Seems like a cool thing to start out with as a guitar synth.
you can tune it?

the EZAG has a couple of built in tunings you can use but if you plug into a soft synth you should be able to do any tuning throught the soft synth.

One more thing: there is a program called Midi Yoke (search it in Google). It should give you some additional functionality for your midi settings. I have it but don't have the time to try it. Greetings!

There is a way to adjust velocity on Reason NN-XT but it doesn't give very satisfying results. The best soft synth/rompler with regard to EZ-AG is Dimension Pro. I've tried all of them, and that is the best one. Now, what is even better--use the sounds of your midi sound card, this gives you low CPU and if record through there, you will have a midi file that can be played by any soft synth.
