Systematic Theology is just what it says. It is a systematic way of organizing knowledge of God. This short video clip explains the why and what of the study.

  • It is wishful thinking to believe that a serious study of theology can be peddled over the internet. At the very best these instructional videos might provide a simple catechesis for those who wish to better understand "evangelical" theology. A serious study of theology involves the learning of languages and the study of the bible and patristic literature.

  • Do you believe in Jesus Christ?

  • yes

  • Why did you take that the premise of this video was to be a complete, thorough, and serious study of systematic theology? Where does it make that assertion?

  • This is a good point. The tone of my first comment is a bit harsh. However, concerning theological learning the typical American Christian is prone to thinking that he can learn all the theology he needs for a lifetime from a few short videos, pop-Christian books, or worse. I oppose this wholeheartedly, hence my hesitance to endorse Youtube theology, or anything that might encourage intellectual indolence.

  • I understand now and agree with your conclusions, but I urge you to be cautious when you assume premises in the future. It can lead into much unneeded error. Thanks for explaining. Take care.

  • Theology is the same kind of science as fairyology, unicornology, hobgoblinology, astrology and homoeopathology are.

A Doctor of Theology is somebody who knows all about something that does not exist.

  • Thank God for you. We, Christians, need this.

  • Lane, I want to thank you for posting these videos. Nothing can replace the actual labor of study, but anything that can convey the importance of study and the encouragement to do so is a good and useful tool. These videos do both. I am putting this on my facebook page and hope it will encourage my friends and show them the importance of systematic study of our God and Savior.

  • Very helpful
