This is an AU version of the story. I never liked the guy that Ethel Ann was really in love with, so I made this about she and Jack who always loved her anyhow. In it, Ethel, Jack and Chuck are all friends. Ethel Ann and Jack are in love. Both Chuck and Jack end up having to go to war, breaking Ethan Ann's heart. Chuck returns first with an eye injury and stays with Ethel Ann. Jack wants to come home, but his love for country forces him to sign up for another mission. Ethan Ann is devastated about his delayed return and is angry with him at first when he comes back injured but soon forgives him, and the two marry--- instead of waiting like 50 years to be together like in the movie!

In the movie or in this vid? In the movie, yes, eventually, but by then it's not Gregory playing Jack--bummer. In this vid, my intention is that she chose Jack when they were young ;)
