Carving is the holy grail for many skiers, in this ski lesson, ski instructor Darren Turner ( http://www.SkiSchoolApp.com ) explains how a ski works, what terms such as sidecut mean, the difference between carving a turn and skidding a turn, and demonstrates a couple of simple exercises to help you to learn how to carve on skis.

The Ski School apps combine easy-to-understand video ski lessons with cutting edge movement analysis technology, why not check out Ski School Advanced on the App Store?

  • "Carving underpants..." LOL

  • @RAWfootyfilms I think I may start producing them one size one colour very tight and very white.

  • I love your videos. Just came back from Chamrousse, Isere :) and tried some exercises, and they do work! I just can't get my A-Frame (which is not so accentuated anymore) from my carving. By the way, I love your Stöckli :)

  • @poorcku Very pleased the videos helped keep practising and I'm sure that a frame will disappear completely, make sure you are a body is in the correct position!stockli do make some great skis thanks again.

  • nice technique you got there man i am watching to spot a mistake haha( for my opinion your inner hand in every turn goes a bit backwards, but then again the input of your innerhand for the next turn is great so) i am just trying to improve from my point of view ;). This is to train myself to be a better skiinstructor. I am really trying to spot a mistake in your technique but watching this a couple times and it is still hard haha however it does look fabulous and a really nice tutorial. greets

  • @MrFiretable No one is perfect!very pleased you liked the videos I hope they help good luck with your instruction thanks Darren.

  • @MrFiretable thanks for your thought but... i master the ski... not the ski master me :) i also did my first black diamond today ! 5 days of skiing... but i appreciate your thoughtfullness very much

  • @MrSwimmingmango In the way of skiing (the methode).is this the last part you learn. before you go into the advanced advanced part haha. and nowadays the skis are made to carve. like he said. they have an hourglass shape. by this shape you have to give so less effort to make a turn. it becomes really easy now. but now the trick becomes to be the master of the ski instead the ski will become the master of you! watch out for that.

    goodluck training carving though ;)

  • @maxspeeder57 You're very welcome great to hear that they help you improve thanks again.
