  • Do you happen to have any video from the early 80s "Eyewitness News" era?

  • Yes, as well as several othr variations of the "News 10" theme. Look for them shortly.

  • And WFAA's sister station, KHOU-Houston (which shares the Spirit of Texas slogan with WFAA, though WFAA's used it longer, and has had it since the theme debuted in 1984)

  • They also used the same theme on WTVF (Nashville), KATU (Portland) & KUSI (San Diego).

  • I like the theme they used just prior to this.

  • Anything from the 70s? One of their main anchors was Rick Kavooras, but all I've got of him is a very short news update, and the start of a longer one which was quickly cut off when recorded. In 1977 it was called "Newservice 10".

  • Nice! Consider me subscribed. :)

  • That 'hollow' quality to the audio is a result of their processed stereo sound used for mono programming. When heard in mono it sounded really messed up. This was the 2nd method of processed stereo KXTV used, when they first got stereo in 1985 they used one that made the left channel very bass-heavy and the right kind of tinny, which was also annoying.
