Our Blessed Lord told us to preach teach and baptize. Dialogue implies that the Church has something to learn from the world in terms of morality. Poopoo! I like the approach of Saint Polycarp "Since you are vainly urgent that, as you say, ...I pretend not to know who and what I am, hear me declare with boldness, I am a Christian. And if you wish to learn what the doctrines of Christianity are, appoint me a day, and you shall hear them." And if you don't want to hear them... to bad for you.

Thank God for sending us our blessed Pope Benedict (may God grant him 100 years). His approach to dialogue: "jah, you wants dialogue? Great! Let's say the rosary together". There are no "new" truths in theology and morality. Dialogue is not necessary here, especially in eccumenism. Here's hoping we see MANY more bishops like Tobin to replace the Niederauer's and Mahoney's of our age. May they go the way of the dinosaur so REAL dialogue (i.e. how many people can we pack into a church) occurs.
