  • it reminds me of paul taking a guitar exam for classical guitar school

  • At 1:17, the (fake) proof that he is humain.

But I bet he is faking it, just to make it look like he is humain.

Because I found only 4 mistakes in like a hundred videos and 2 live shows, so he must is more than a humain.

  • @MarkRiches I was talking specifically where he makes the mistake at around 1:20 and speeds up to compensate for his internal meter he set for this song. I understand playing rubato, but he generally he keeps it about the same meter with his extra frills. After 18 years and many instruments, teachers, orchestras and bands I still do what he does at 1:21 most of the time. I speed up to play all the notes and go back to "tempo" once I catch up, whether it rubato or even.

  • @cowcrusher nah it's free of tempo mostly. there are plenty of slowed down parts and sped up parts even on the record. I like it like that very much. kind of accentuates certain notes and seems more expressive. it's a solo piece - it's allowed :)

  • That was awesome, nobody is perfect, but that piece give me goosebumps !

  • failure

  • @reapertcm It's a very difficult piece to play. Much more difficult than shredding...

  • guitar matters aside, it's sloppy played

  • To those of us who have performed solo works by Bach live, it's not easy! It's very easy to get "lost in the notes" and have memory slip type of problems which is I think what happened here! I'm still amazed he can play this on electric guitar; I've heard it hundreds of times on violin or classical guitar but never on electric. I'd love to see Gilbert attempt Bach's masterpiece the Chaconne!

  • @mrdunkerishere Probably to add some much needed dynamics. Bach kind of requires it or else it just ends up sounding like a jumble of notes and/or a scale exercise.

  • He has a better version of the song on here where he is playing a really cool colored Fireman. with japanese symbols on it.

  • ya paul is my favorite but he messes up a lot in this surprisingly ???
