Following a few near misses and reported colisions at this junction I record my journeys along this road. It is a well known accident black spot and very poorly layed out junction. To my knowledge this is the first time a collision has been recorded here as well.

Luckilly nobody was hurt seriously this time. As I was one of the first people at the scene I have recorded my actions.

The track is an overlay, I don't listen to music that loud in my car (but it's there to drown out my passengers comments ;-) ).

  • You did a great job with that, kept calm, and dealt with the incident really well! There's not enough people like you these days.

I recently came across a collision about 20 seconds after it happened, it was a pretty bad smash, and there were other cars around but no one else stopped, even though the saw it happen. I stopped, but unfortunately I couldn't give a statement because I didn't see it. But I stayed until the emergency services arrived, luckily no one was hurt there either.

  • @rorum277 If you witness a crime and because you don't give a statement to the Police/CPS the perpetrator gets away with it, you're an assessory after the fact. In a road traffic collision if someone is at fault (I think the road layout had a lot to do with this one) they have commited a crime. Even if it's only a section of the Road Traffic Act. I don't understand how people can walk away from moral obligation. Both helping at the scene and helping with any investigation.

  • What I've never understood is why people don't always run to try and help as soon as an accident happens. You were the furthest away and were the first to the collision! Recently witnessed can knocking off a motorcycle, I was the only person on a busy street to run to the scene!

I think it shows something good about your character :)

  • @pympster Thank you. Coming from you that's praise indeed. The two cars in front of me were straight on the phone to report it. Mark (the freind of mine in the Mondeo Taxi) noticed it was me and sent me a text later saying as soon as he saw it was me he knew it was sorted. I left in such a hurry I forgot to turn my engine off, nearly ran out of petrol and sucked some crap into my fuel pump. :-)

  • Could you share the whole video with me? Station Manager Tim Edwards - King's Lynn Fire Station.

Thanks for the comments regarding my crew!

  • @jjrtim No problem; I had moved my car (out of the way) before your guys arrived I can drop a copy off at the station next time I'm in town.

  • Just read your thread on PH, I know that junction well. Good work mate!

  • Impressed with how you dealt with that. Been in a similar situation, and it's very difficult knowing what to do first.

  • @cardoctor2k9 Thank you for your honnesty. The Police have the whole unedited version form the same starting point as this clip to the point I moved my car.

Sadly it's a "Shit Happens" society these days; until it happens to you. As you can see from the clip I didn't hesitate, and in the same situation I wouldn't hesitate to help again. I think you probably would to. I've surprised myself a few times.

    All the best. :-)

  • please disregard last comment, on watching the video again the VD didnt have time to react as the car pulled into his path at last minute.
