With more people able to afford medical care in India, the growing market is driving so-called "blood rackets". Some poor people are lured into giving their blood for money but are then held against their will without payment.

Al Jazeera's Divya Gopalan reports from the northern city of Gorakhpur where the discovery of such illegal operations raises questions over safety standards in India's hospitals.
