I realized today that Gary was called home about a year ago...God! I still miss him and his gut-wrenching, passionate playing. I am loathe to call anyone the greatest anything, but Gary will go down in history as perhaps one of the greatest, relatively unsung British bluesmen. Gary seemed to cry out to the heavens through his playing and to me it was truly spiritual.
Listen to his cover “The Messiah will come again” for a fine example of his spirituality coming through in his playing.

Gary, many of us will miss your music and your love of the blues and us, your many fans. They sure got one hell of a blues band in heaven; say “hey” to Robert, Roy, Jimi, the two Alberts, Stevie, Honeyboy, Hubert…You know who they all are! Go with God, my Brother.

I fell in love in Gary at least 20 years ago.i was shocked to find out about his demise and that was at the Grammys. I am sooo amazed at how many people knew and loved his music. I'm listening too you more than ever rip. Sandy
