@gichmaster cam sync, dont sound like that, and it wouldnt keep doing that if the engine is off, its some kinda of vacume leak

GO to your wrecker and ask them for a cam syncronizer - get a local tech to swap it out. its not that hard.

there is a vacum house to the left and its black ,,,so check the leake there .

So what was wrong with the van??.. Curious to know because i'm working on a van with this exact engine - not the same problem though..This van has water in the engine oil..

need more advice i have one and i know all the issues they have p0171 is one i just finished fixing on the van usually dpfe sensor or egr valve gone bad so yeah
